Executive Pastor

Tommy’s involvement with Praise Cathedral dates back to the church’s origin out of the Greer Church of God in 1982. He and his family were part of the storefront mission that began at the Country Plaza when he was a student at Riverside High School. After graduating from high school and Greenville Technical College, Tommy worked for Superbrand Dairy for the next nine years. It was during this time that he began to pursue the call to ministry by taking various educational leaves of absence until he graduated from East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, NC in 1993.
Immediately after college, he enrolled at the Church of God Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN where he served as a graduate assistant for Dr. R. Hollis Gause and conducted research on Pentecostal Historical Theology. While in seminary, Tommy married his wife, Jeanne, who was pursuing her MA in Christian Education. Upon graduating from seminary in 1996 with his Masters of Divinity, Tommy and Jeanne began fulltime ministry at the South Rocky Mount Church of God in Rocky Mount, NC where Tommy served as the Associate Pastor for the next four years.
In June 2000, Tommy and Jeanne returned home to Praise Cathedral with their newborn daughter, Kristen, and served as the Children’s Pastor until September 2005. At that time, Tommy assumed the role of Executive Pastor where he serves to date. His current responsibilities include church administration, business and finance, as well as leading “Young Adults” LifePointe. During his tenure at Praise Cathedral, he continued to pursue higher education by completing his doctorate at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA in January 2009.
