PASTORAL CARE
The Pastoral Care Ministry is just what the title implies: caring for people’s needs in a loving, compassionate, Christ-like manner. You will often hear it said from the pulpit that “everyone needs a church family”, and this area of ministry bears out that truth. It is when we find ourselves in need that we need one another the most. We should never run away and isolate ourselves but should always feel confident to call out to our church family to help us stand strong against the battles of life and the attacks of the enemy. If a member of our church family is having surgery, a staff member is there for prayer and support. Our church staff visits the hospitals daily to minister to the needs of our members as well as to their friends and family. In an emergency, we are only a phone call away. Also, if a church member experiences the death of an immediate family member, we provide a family meal if so desired. But our Pastoral Care Ministry goes beyond the efforts of our church staff as volunteers also minister Christ’s love through the Dorcas Ministry. This group of saints not only prays diligently for the needs of our family members, but they also assist in times of need in practical ways, such as taking meals to families after surgeries, running errands, shopping for the home bound or driving someone without transportation to a doctor’s appointment. It is easy to see how the opportunities to touch people’s lives through Pastoral Care Ministries will continue to expand as our church grows. Pastor Eric Campbell leads this area of ministry, as well as the Hospitality Ministry, so if you have a heart and passion to be involved in any of these ministry opportunities, please contact Pastor Eric Campbell.
HOSPITALITY
The Hospitality Ministry is our “front line” of ministry. As soon as you turn into the parking lot, attendants and shuttle cart drivers are there to not only help organize and direct parking but also to answer any questions attendees may have and assist in any way needed. Then, as you enter the church, you are met and warmly welcomed by ushers and greeters who make themselves available to serve as called upon. As Pastor Madden greets attendees in the foyer at the conclusion of service, guests are receiving information about the church and being welcomed and ministered to in the Welcome Center, while section leaders take up the attendance and registration information in the “Who’s In The Pew?” pads. Next, if you are a guest, you will be contacted by phone, email or letter (or all three) so that you can know how much your visit to Praise Cathedral was appreciated and that staff members, elders and volunteers are available to answer your questions and minister to your needs as needed. Then, within the next couple of weeks, our guests receive an invitation to join us for our next “Pastor’s Fellowship Meal”, which is a complimentary meal in the Dining Center following the morning worship service. At this special fellowship, new attendees have the opportunity to meet and fellowship with the church staff and even take guided tours of the church facilities.
