Recognizing Lukewarmness
Devotional
In Revelation 3:14-22, Jesus addresses the church of Laodicea, describing them as lukewarm—neither hot nor cold. This spiritual complacency is a dangerous state, as it reflects a lack of fervor and commitment to God. The Laodiceans’ material wealth had blinded them to their spiritual poverty, a condition Jesus exposes as ‘wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.’ Today, take a moment to evaluate your own spiritual temperature. Are there areas in your life where you have become complacent? Recognizing lukewarmness is the first step towards rekindling your passion for Christ.
Bible Verse
‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!’ – Revelation 3:15
