Devotional
Have you ever felt like the walls were closing in? Like every turn led to another dead end? We all face moments when life feels overwhelming, and our natural instinct might be to run – just like Jonah did. But even in those moments when we feel trapped or buried by circumstances, there’s a profound truth we need to remember: God is still there, and He’s still listening. Our circumstances don’t diminish His ability to hear us or His desire to help us. In fact, sometimes these overwhelming moments are precisely when we experience God’s presence most powerfully. When everything seems to be falling apart, that’s often when God is putting things together in ways we couldn’t imagine.
Bible Verse
Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the belly of the fish. – Jonah 2:1
Reflection Question
What situation in your life currently feels overwhelming, and how might God be working in ways you can’t yet see?
Quote
All of us know what it is to have that feeling like I’m being buried alive and everything’s closing in.
Prayer
Father, when life feels overwhelming, help me remember that You’re still in control. Give me the courage to turn to You instead of running away. Thank You for always being there, even when I feel buried by circumstances. Amen.
