Devotional
Many of us look to external solutions for internal problems. We might think that if we just had better circumstances, more education, or stricter rules, our struggles would disappear. However, our deepest issues stem from our hearts. Just as Jonah’s prejudice wasn’t solved by his prophetic position or religious knowledge, our own struggles won’t be resolved by surface-level changes. True transformation requires heart change, and that’s something only God can provide. When we open ourselves to His transformative work, He begins to reshape our perspectives, attitudes, and actions from the inside out.

Bible Verse
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23

Reflection Question
What areas of your life have you been trying to fix through external changes rather than allowing God to transform your heart?

Quote
“There will never be a legislation that will fix racism. There will never be a law, there will never be a court that will correct the problem. Why? Because it’s a problem of the heart. And only Jesus Christ can correct what is wrong in our hearts.”

Prayer
Father, I surrender my heart to You. Transform me from the inside out. Help me stop relying on external solutions and trust in Your power to change me. Amen.
