Devotional
It’s easy to praise God on the mountaintop when everything is going well. But true spiritual maturity is revealed in how we respond in the valleys of life. When suffering comes, we have a unique opportunity to know Christ more intimately. In our pain, we can experience a deeper fellowship with Jesus, who himself endured the ultimate suffering. Rather than viewing difficulties as obstacles to our faith, we can see them as opportunities to grow closer to Christ. Our greatest spiritual growth often happens not in moments of miracle, but in moments of trial.
Bible Verse
“Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left.” – Luke 23:32-33
Reflection Question
How has God used difficult seasons in your life to draw you closer to Him?
Quote
“While you may celebrate on the Mountain of Miracles because it is there that he works for you, I would submit to you it’s actually greater praise in the Valley of suffering because it’s there that he works in you.”
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for walking with us through our valleys. Help us to see our suffering as an opportunity to know You more deeply. Amen.
